Titan Deck Company Austin is a family-owned deck builder serving Central Texas since 2014. Most of our residential work falls in the Hill Country corridor: West Lake Hills, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Westlake, and the Northwest Austin neighborhoods around Northwest Hills and River Place. To see if we’re a fit for your project, reach out for a free site visit, and we’ll respond within one business day.
We work primarily with composite systems from Trex, TimberTech, and Fiberon, as well as cedar and exotic hardwoods, including ipe and tigerwood. Material choice drives lifespan, maintenance schedule, and final appearance; we walk through the trade-offs during the initial site visit.
We also build commercial decks for restaurants, hotels, and multi-family properties across Greater Austin. Every project includes structural assessment, code-compliant framing, and material selection matched to the property’s sun exposure, foundation type, and intended use. We are fully insured. Permits are coordinated through trusted local partners.

Material Selection for Texas Conditions
Material choice drives lifespan, maintenance schedule, and final appearance. The four primary options we install are matched to sun exposure, intended use, and budget.
Composite Decking
Composite decking from Trex (Transcend, Enhance), TimberTech (AZEK, EDGE), and Fiberon (Concordia, Sanctuary) delivers a 25- to 50-year structural lifespan, with annual cleaning as the only required maintenance. Capped polymer surfaces resist UV fade, splintering, and humidity. Best fit for owners who want low ongoing labor.
Cedar Decking
Western Red Cedar is the regional standard for traditional wood decks. Naturally resistant to rot and insects, it takes oil-based stain well, and weathers to a silver-grey if left untreated. Requires resealing every 2 to 3 years to maintain color and surface integrity in the Austin sun.
Ipe
Brazilian ipe is the highest-density commercial hardwood available for decking. Class A fire rating, 75-plus-year lifespan in this climate, and naturally repels insects and rot. Higher upfront material cost, near-zero replacement risk. The right choice for premium properties and pool surrounds where longevity outweighs initial budget.
Tigerwood
Tigerwood (Brazilian koa) delivers ipe-level durability with distinctive stripe figure. Often used as an accent species on multi-level builds or as the primary surface on architecturally distinctive homes. Hand-finished installation with stainless hidden fasteners to preserve the surface pattern.
Our Build Process
Step 1: Site Assessment
We walk the property, photograph existing conditions, measure structural elements, identify drainage and clearance constraints, and confirm property line and setback requirements. Initial pricing range comes from this visit.
Step 2: Material and Design Selection
We review composite, cedar, ipe, and tigerwood options against your sun exposure, foundation type, and intended use (entertaining, pool surround, structural extension). Renderings provided when the design includes architectural features (pergolas, built-in seating, multi-level transitions).
Step 3: Permits and Engineering
For decks over 200 square feet or attached to the structure, we coordinate permitting through our local partners and provide stamped structural drawings when required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Step 4: Construction
Concrete footings sized to soil conditions. Pressure-treated structural framing per IRC span tables. Hidden-fastener decking on hardwood and composite surfaces. Code-compliant railing height and baluster spacing. Stainless or coated hardware throughout.
Step 5: Final Inspection and Handoff
Documented structural inspection of footings, framing, fastening, railing, and finish. Handoff packet includes a maintenance schedule matched to the chosen material and complete warranty paperwork (manufacturer’s warranty for the composite, workmanship warranty for the installation).
Railings, Lighting, and Built-In Features
Feature decisions are made at the design stage, so framing and electrical can be planned around them. The five options below are the most common on our projects.
Deck Railing
Cable rail, composite picket, aluminum, or matching wood. Code-compliant 36 or 42 inch height, depending on deck elevation. Baluster spacing under 4 inches to meet residential code.
Post Lights
Low-voltage LED post caps are wired during framing. 5,000K daylight or 2,700K warm-white. Integrated with the existing outdoor lighting circuit when one is in place.
Tread Lights
Recessed LED stair lighting is required by code on decks with three or more steps. Wired in series with the post lights for single-switch operation.
Pergolas
Free-standing or attached pergolas in cedar, painted pressure-treated, or aluminum. Structural calculations sized to the local wind load (Austin metro: 115 mph design).
Outdoor Kitchens
Cabinetry, grill cutouts, and counter surfaces are integrated into the deck framing. We coordinate with the gas and plumbing trades; we do not perform gas line installation directly.
What Makes Us Different
Material Specialists, Not Generalists
We work primarily with four materials (composite, cedar, ipe, tigerwood) and have detailed knowledge of installation requirements for each. We are not the right call if you want pressure-treated pine for the lowest possible budget; we are the right call when material choice matters.
Hill Country Focus
Most of our residential work happens in West Lake Hills, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Westlake, and the Northwest Austin neighborhoods. We know the topography, soil conditions, HOA requirements, and permit pathways for these zones.
Commercial Capable
We hold commercial project experience, including restaurant patios, hotel outdoor dining, and multi-family communal decks. ADA-compliant ramping and commercial code work are part of our standard scope.
Family-Owned, Locally Operated
Operating in Central Texas since 2014. Single ownership group, no subcontracted sales team, no franchise overhead.
Fully Insured
General liability and workers’ compensation coverage on every job. Insurance certificates available on request for commercial projects and HOA-managed properties.

What deck materials do you specialize in?
We work primarily with four materials: composite (Trex Transcend, TimberTech AZEK, Fiberon Concordia), Western Red Cedar, Brazilian ipe, and tigerwood. Material choice drives lifespan, maintenance schedule, and final appearance; we walk you through the trade-offs during the initial site visit.
Do you build commercial decks?
Yes. We hold commercial project experience, including restaurant patios, hotel outdoor dining, multi-family communal decks, and event-space rooftop builds. ADA-compliant ramping and commercial code work are part of our standard scope.
What areas of Austin do you serve?

We also serve Greater Austin (all directional zones), Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander, Buda, and Kyle. Commercial projects extend across Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop counties.
How much does a custom deck cost?
Cost varies widely based on material choice (composites are mid-range; exotic hardwoods are premium), size, structural complexity (multi-level, attached vs. free-standing), and features (railings, lighting, integrated kitchen). Initial site visits are free and produce a verbal pricing range based on what we observe and your stated scope. Written estimates follow once material and design decisions are confirmed.
How long does a typical deck build take?
Lead time from contract signing to project start is typically two to six weeks, depending on material availability and seasonal demand. Build duration ranges from 1 to 4 weeks on-site for most residential projects. Multi-level builds and commercial projects take longer to complete; we provide a project-specific timeline in the written estimate.
